Overview
The course, available for study under the guidance of experienced faculty, focuses on innovative strategies for streamlining logistics operations, reducing costs, and improving overall service delivery. Students will explore various logistical models, legal considerations, and the use of technology in logistics, gaining insights that prepare them for advanced managerial roles in logistics and supply chain management.
Logistics deals with the movement of inventory through different methods and stock points. Excellent logistics managers understand each link in their supply chain. This understanding allows the manager to procure the best prices and processes for meeting a goal. This course is offered 100% online and is part of the W.P. Carey Certificate in Foundations of Supply Chain Management.

About this course
This class will focus on the history, importance, and process of moving products across continents and country borders. In many ways, logistics have never been easier. Many third-party logistics (3PL) providers now give new companies ways to get products to market faster and easier than ever before. One goal is to get one’s product to market simply. On the other hand, other goals, such as getting the product to market efficiently and cost-effectively, may take more time and skill.
This class will focus on studying the different delivery modes and the laws that apply to them. We will also learn the importance of warehouses and technology. All these different modes and stock points build to become a logistics network. Your network's flexibility, mixed with its cost-effectiveness, will be the pillar upon which your business succeeds or fails.
This class is also part of the W. P. Carey Certificate in Foundations of Supply Chain Management. The certificate can be completed independently for no academic credit or applied credit hours of completed courses upon successful admission to Onsite and Online MS-SCM, Online MBA & Evening MBA
