Overview
This course introduces the fundamental skills and concepts of Flat Pattern Making, the primary fashion design process used by the Western fashion industry and name brands today.
Victoria Cook, an experienced teacher and fashion business entrepreneur with a history of working in the apparel industry, adds exceptional value to ‘the basic bodice form’ by exposing you to the flat pattern method used throughout the industry, as it is the fastest, most cost-effective way to create garments.
Each of the 15 lessons contains demonstration videos, reading materials, quizzes, and projects. You will also find videos guiding you to self-evaluate your progress in lessons 1-9.
Pattern-making is a blueprint for constructing garments or a template for creating all the garment components required to form a complete clothing unit, regardless of the garment's size or shape. Patterns include essential markings for precise assembly, which encompass various elements, such as darts, seam allowances, notches, and punch holes for trims, pockets, buttons, and buttonholes.
