Overview
This course provides a survey of concepts, structure, and analytical tools that lay the foundation for employing quantitative techniques (descriptive and predictive) to gain insights that enhance decision-making. The objective of the course is to familiarize the student with data analysis, including:
- Assessing basic descriptive statistics given to a data set
- Finding relationships between variables within a data set
- Understanding probability and probability distributions
- Constructing confidence intervals and conducting hypothesis testing
- Using linear regression models to analyze relationships among variables and make statistical inferences that support business decisions
- Forecasting with time series methods
The course is designed for working professionals with some exposure to the technology or data area. This course is offered 100% online and is part of the W. P. Carey Certificate in Business Analytics.
